Growth Automation

Follow people who follow back. Unfollow the rest.

The follow-unfollow flywheel still works in 2026, but only if you're surgical. Mirgent's follow automation surfaces high-overlap audiences (followers of accounts in your niche), lets you bulk-follow safely, accepts the friend requests that come back, then sweeps non-reciprocators weekly so your follow ratio stays healthy.

The Mirgent growth flywheel, engineered for safety

Six guards that turn an inherently-risky pattern into a safe daily routine.

Follow From Page

Point Mirgent at any 'followers' or 'people' page (a competitor's followers, a topical hashtag's audience). Mirgent follows up to 25 accounts per session with humanlike delays.

Single-Target Follow

Use the API or workflow to follow specific handles by username, useful for outreach automations where you want to warm up a specific contact before sending a DM.

Auto-Accept Requests

Bulk-follow on Facebook / LinkedIn surfaces friend requests from people who want back in. Mirgent accepts up to 20/day on schedule so the loop stays closed.

Unfollow Unreciprocated

Sweep your Following list weekly; unfollow up to 15 accounts per platform that haven't followed back in 14+ days. Maintains follow ratio + frees you to follow new prospects within platform caps.

Reciprocity Detection

Mirgent reads each profile to check 'follows you' state before unfollowing. Prevents accidentally unfollowing someone you respect who didn't follow back yet.

Per-Platform Cooldowns

Hard daily caps per platform (Twitter 50, Instagram 50, LinkedIn 15/week). Cooldowns between actions prevent burst patterns that flag as spam.

From seed page to grown audience in 4 stages

The flywheel runs daily. Total automation time: 5 minutes/week of approval review.

  1. Pick the seed page

A competitor's followers list, a hashtag page on Twitter, a topical /people/ page on LinkedIn, anywhere your target audience already congregates. URL-paste; Mirgent figures out the platform and follow flow.

  2. Daily auto-follow with caps

Mirgent visits the page, follows the next N unfollowed users (default 25 per session), respects per-platform daily caps + cooldowns, and logs each action. Failed follows (private accounts, blocked, etc.) skip without breaking the run.

  3. Auto-accept reciprocators

On Facebook + LinkedIn, friend / connection requests come back from people who want to engage. Auto-accept loop runs daily in the background; closes the warm-loop without you babysitting.

  4. Weekly unfollow sweep

Sunday-morning workflow: sweep Following list, identify accounts that haven't followed back in 14+ days, unfollow up to 15 per platform per week. Frees follow-budget for next week's flywheel run.

Where the flywheel works

Most heavily tested platforms first; everything in this list is production-validated.

Twitter / X

Most-tested. Bulk follow from any //followers URL; humanlike delay 30-90s; daily cap 25-50; verified ban-safe across thousands of runs.

LinkedIn

Connect requests instead of follows. /people/ pages on company profiles work best. Cap: 15/week (free) or 30/week (premium). Auto-accept inbound invites closes the loop.

Instagram

Follow from a competitor's followers list. Daily cap 50; aggressive anti-spam means stick close to defaults. Mass-follow is risky, Mirgent stays surgical.

Facebook

Friend-request based, not follow. Accept-requests automation closes the loop on people who request back. Pages have separate Follow mechanic; both supported.

Bluesky / Mastodon / Threads

Smaller networks; bulk follow works well because anti-spam thresholds are higher. Best place to start if you're new to growth flywheel automation.

+ TikTok, Pinterest, Tumblr, Reddit

Each has follow primitives Mirgent supports. TikTok and Reddit have stricter caps; Pinterest and Tumblr are roomier.

Who runs the flywheel

Three operator profiles that consistently see audience compounding from this pattern.

Newsletter writer building list

Follow newsletter-writer accounts in your niche; many follow back; their audience sees you in suggestions. 30-day uplift: 10-20% follower growth from compound effects.

B2B founder warming prospects

Follow target prospects on LinkedIn before sending a connection request, 'familiar profile' bumps acceptance rates 2-3×. Used as a pre-DM warm-up.

Solo creator escaping single-platform

Already-Twitter-creator running flywheel on Bluesky / Mastodon / Threads to seed audience. Lower stakes per-action makes these networks the safe place to learn the pattern.

What Mirgent won't do

Follow automation has bad reputations because most tools are reckless. Mirgent's defaults are engineered to keep accounts alive.

  • No mass-follow bursts. 25-50/day cap, 30-90s humanlike delay, never a 100-follow-in-an-hour pattern.
  • No follow/unfollow loops on the same target, once unfollowed, that user is excluded for 30 days.
  • No follow-back-required ratios above what the platform considers normal. We never push your follow:follower ratio above 3:1.
  • Account-age aware, new accounts (under 30 days) auto-throttle to 50% of cap until they've built history.

Follow Automation FAQ

Will follow automation get my account banned?

Not at Mirgent's defaults. We've validated the pattern on thousands of accounts; the configs we ship sit well below documented spam thresholds. Risk only kicks in if you raise caps aggressively (which Free / Creator plans don't allow).

How long until follower growth shows?

First 7 days: 5-15% follow-back rate on niche-relevant follows. Compounding effect at week 2-4 as suggestions bring you new follows organically. 30-60 day curve is when the math becomes obvious.

Why limit unfollows to 15/week per platform?

Mass unfollow is the exact pattern Twitter / Instagram flag for shadowban. 15/week looks human; 50/week looks bot-driven. The cap is calibrated to the platform's tolerance.

Can I exclude specific people from unfollow?

Yes, Mirgent maintains a whitelist of accounts you've explicitly marked as keep-following. Unfollow Unreciprocated never touches those, regardless of reciprocity.

How is this different from cheap follow-bot tools?

Three things: (1) Mirgent uses your real browser session (no API-token spam patterns). (2) Daily caps + cooldowns are engineered, not aspirational. (3) Reciprocity detection prevents the 'unfollowed someone important' embarrassment cheap tools cause.

Does this work for personal accounts or only business/creator?

Both. Mirgent works on whatever account is logged in via the Chrome extension. Personal accounts just stick more strictly to humanlike caps; business / creator accounts can sometimes safely raise.
