Telegram Integration

Telegram channel broadcasts on a schedule

Telegram channels are an underrated newsletter alternative, high deliverability, high engagement, no inbox spam filters. Mirgent automates channel posting via Telegram's Bot API: schedule broadcasts, image/video attachments, link previews, and inline buttons.

Telegram capabilities in Mirgent

Bot-based broadcast scheduling. Telegram is unique among Mirgent platforms in using a real API.

  • Channel broadcast scheduling (text + media + inline buttons)
  • Image, video, audio, document attachment support
  • Link preview customization (avoid Telegram's default preview when needed)
  • Cross-post from RSS to Telegram channel
  • Inline keyboard / button support for CTAs

Connect Telegram

Telegram requires a bot token + channel ID. 5-minute one-time setup.

  1. Create a bot via @BotFather

Open @BotFather on Telegram, send /newbot, follow the prompts. You'll get a bot token (looks like 123456:ABC...). Save it.

  2. Add bot to your channel

Channel settings → Administrators → Add Admin → search for your bot's username. Grant 'Post Messages' permission.

  3. Add credentials to Mirgent

Settings → Telegram → paste bot token + channel ID (the @yourchannel handle). Test message confirms working connection.

Telegram tactics in 2026

What's working on Telegram for creators and businesses.

  • Channels > groups for broadcast. Groups have noise; channels have 1:many delivery without group-chat overhead.
  • Inline buttons for CTAs. 'Read more' / 'Subscribe' / 'Join community' buttons get 3-5× higher click-through than plain links.
  • Image-first posts > text-only. Telegram's preview surface privileges visual content.
  • Cross-post from your blog RSS, Telegram is the lowest-friction newsletter for tech / crypto / international audiences.

Telegram FAQ

Why does Telegram use bot tokens instead of browser sessions?

Telegram is the only Mirgent platform with a clean public Bot API that's stable, free, and unrestricted. For broadcast scheduling specifically, the API is simpler and more reliable than browser automation. Personal-account messaging (DMs) would still need the web client; Mirgent doesn't do that.

Can I schedule to multiple Telegram channels?

Yes, each channel is a separate connection (one bot can admin many channels, or use different bots per channel). Common pattern for community managers.

Does Mirgent support Telegram groups?

Channels yes, supergroups partially (broadcast posts only, not threaded discussion). For interactive group management, Telegram's native group features are richer than what Mirgent automates.

What about Telegram Premium features?

Bot API features are the same regardless of Premium status. Premium-only features (1.5GB file uploads, 4 reactions per message, etc.) work transparently, Mirgent uses whatever's available on the bot's account.
